Hanbury Manor Wedding Fair

Over the past few months I have visited the delightful Hanbury Manor Hotel several times with my beautiful brides.

It is one of my favourite wedding venues in Hertfordshire. The stately Jacobean country house is a perfect setting for a wedding. If high ceilings and beautiful walled gardens weren't enough for you it is also set in 200 acres of stunning hotel parkland with lakes and elegant woodland.

The venue is a great mix of traditional and contemporary - with stunning architecture making it a unique venue and perfect if you wanted to add a dash of history to your day.

Garden Court is where I have visited recently during my last few visits. It is a self contained area of Hanbury Manor allowing guests to have a tranquil setting surrounded by manicured walled gardens. With tall ceilings and lots of light I have loved styling and helping my brides decide what flowers and arrangements to have on their big day.

As a fan of Hanbury Manor I jumped at the chance of exhibiting at their wedding fair on Sunday 12th April. The sun was shining and the birds were tweeting as I got my flowers packed into the car.

Upon arrival at Hanbury Manor I set up my table in a pretty little suite at the back of the venue over looking the stunning golf course. I was joined by Karen Forte Bridal & occasion wear, Steve from House of Williams (wedding rings) and a few other great stands.

I decided to go for the simple look on my table for the fair on Sunday. I find that less is more and too much on a table can look cluttered which isn't Betty & Bears branding.

A few arrangements I created were a huge Martini glass filled with fresh spring flowers in blues, pinks and greens. A small hand tied of gypsophila which was simple and elegant - a favourite of mine and a candelabra with large white candles, pink roses, hydrangeas and other greenery.

A favourite of brides throughout the day was an alternative centre piece of old vintage books with antique teacups and tea pot filled with cream roses. So many brides loved this idea. I even met a collector who has a 15,000 limited addition book collection in his garage!

This idea sprung from a consultation I had with a bride a few weeks before - she is an author and wanted to incorporate books into her day. We thought using the books as centre pieces with flowers was a great way to do this!

I had a fantastic day at Hanbury Manor - I met some amazing brides who are getting married there in 2016 along with brides booked other fantastic venues in 2015 and 2016 in Hertfordshire and I am looking forward to working with them soon.
