I have known Lois for several years, after she moved her gorgeous horse, Pepsi to the stables where my daughter, Emily kept her horse. They quickly became friends and Lois has been a big part of our lives ever since - a highlight has to be being each others bridesmaids.
Lets take it back to the beginning where it all began... Lois & John first met when Lois was working for Mercedes-Benz in Bishops Stortford, John would come into the office once a month to carry out checks on behalf of an insurance provider. They chatted and laughed every time he came in, which was once a month - they got on really well as friends. Fast forward a few years to 2014 - Lois started looking for a new job & John put her forward for a position for a company he did regular work for. Lois started with AutoProtect in September 2015 and at the end of November John asked her out for dinner and they never looked back.
I love hearing about how and when brides got engaged, when Lois came over for her consultation, she told me their romantic tale, "John proposed on 13th February 2016 at home. We were going for dinner that evening and I had been to the hairdressers. When I got home he was in the living room of the house, when I opened the door the coffee table was covered in hearts with a card and heart shaped chocolates. He said I have a present for you whilst leaving the room, shortly after he returned dropped to one knee and said I have something to ask you…. Will you be my valentine, producing a single red rose from behind his back! I took the rose and agreed I would be. Going through to the kitchen John followed me and said no really I do have a present for you, again dropping to one knee he said will you marry me? J we then went to Smith’s Restaurant in Ongar where we had a bottle of Bollinger Champagne and a bouquet of red roses waiting that John had been arranging whilst I had been out during the day."

Lois & John got married at Parklands, Quendon Hall, Quendon Essex on Friday 4th November 2016. The sky was filled with clouds & the grass surrounding the venue covered in a light dew; but that didn't dampen the atmosphere. Lois was joined by her 2 oldest friends, her sister, Emily, her mum and mother-in-law to be - bottles of champagne were popped, songs were sung and everyone was feeling the love!
Lois had four bridesmaids - her beautiful sister, Faye, two oldest friends, Nicola & Karen and Emily. They all looked stunning in the bridesmaids dresses which were from David’s Bridal Westfield Stratford. Their shoes were an elegant pale pink from ASOS.
Flowers by me, Betty & Bear Flowers - Lois came to see me with some wonderful ideas. She wanted warm purples and greens to flow through from the ceremony room to the reception. We added some white roses to the bouquets to really lift them and highlight them against the purple bridesmaids. Lois had a large bouquet filled with deep purple calla lillies, huge white and pale pink roses, finished off with some eucalyptus. It was then tied with white satin ribbon and fastened with an elegant vintage clip.
The ceremony room was filled with lanterns and flowers which created a warm and romantic setting for their ceremony. The arrangement on the registers table was then moved to form part of the top table which stretched along a huge table, seating, Lois & John, their parents, best man and maid of honor (Lois's sister).
On each of the guests tables sat a lantern surrounded by fresh green foliage, roses and calla lillies. The soft glow of the candles created an amazing romantic feel to the room, which was emphasized by the amazing fairy lights above.
The cake was an elegant 4 tiered traditional cake with white icing. Inside was chocolate, lemon and victoria sponge. The cake was made by Angie Waddell.
Lois' inspiration was mainly from visiting the venue, it was the only venue they walked into and knew that is where they wanted to get married! Lois had a good idea of the kind of dress I wanted and she knew the moment she put it on that it was the one. Everything else was found by looking online for ideas and just knowing what I wanted when I saw it.
